Senior Full Stack Engineer - Marketplace

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Marketplace Team, you will help advance our core purchasing platform to provide a modern e-commerce experience for scientific users. This includes enabling scientists to search millions of data-rich records when ordering equipment, chemicals, and lab consumables, while providing suppliers with analytics about marketplace behavior. You are a good fit if you enjoy creating end-to-end solutions in a collaborative environment. Experience with e-commerce platforms or enterprise web applications is a plus. You approach design and engineering solutions thoughtfully, meeting business needs while optimizing for system health, security, and maintenance.

This role is based out of our corporate headquarters in Boston. We operate a flexible hybrid model with 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Please note that we are only accepting candidates residing in the greater Boston area.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features, advancing our platform's technologies.
• Mentor, support, collaborate with, and learn from team members and stakeholders.
• Develop frontend features, components, and architecture.
• Build backend services supporting the marketplace.
• Integrate with third-party services.
• Optimize search infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience solving large problems with executable solutions.
• Experience as a product owner or SME in technical and functional areas.
• Ability to thrive with complex problems and multiple solutions.
• Strong results-driven project management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Deep knowledge of Next.js, React, Typescript, Node.js, and backend frameworks like Nest.js.
• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Experience working in a Service Oriented Architecture.
• Designing modern frontend architectures.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and procurement for scientific applications.
• Utilizing Elasticsearch for catalog search.
• Maintaining and replatforming legacy platforms like LAMP.
