Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM]

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Lab Assistant  to join our clinical reference laboratory team in Carrollton, TX. This entry-level role is essential to the laboratory workflow, supporting the pre-analytical phase of testing by preparing and organizing patient samples for laboratory analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unpack incoming shipments of clinical specimens

• Verify package contents against shipping manifests

• Sort and organize specimen tubes by type and test requirements

• Uncap and prepare sample tubes for laboratory processing

• Accurately label and re-label specimens as needed

• Dispose of packaging materials and biohazard waste according to lab protocols

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

• Assist with data entry and logging of specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)

• Follow safety and infection control procedures at all times

• Communicate clearly with lab technicians and supervisors about any irregularities or damaged samples

• Perform other basic support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions

• Basic computer skills preferred

• Comfortable working with biological specimens and within a lab environment

• Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic

Salary:

• $10/hour
