CommScope is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Shakopee, MN.

Throughout the 12-week program, you will collaborate with some of the best in the industry, receive on the job training and participate in professional development workshops, executive speaker series, and other networking and social events!

How Youll Help Us Connect the World

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Fiber Optic Product Engineering team in the generation of new product ideas driven by customer feedback and market trends.

You Will Make an Impact By

  • Creating new product concepts and product designs for Fiber Optic Networks
  • Generating product assembly drawings & documentation for manufacturing
  • Collaborating with manufacturing to optimize the design for manufacturability
  • Interfacing with engineers on product improvements and solutions
  • Working closely with our development lab to test and demonstrate product compliance


Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • Actively pursuing a bachelors (upcoming juniors & seniors) or masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Proven strong academic performer with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

  • Have experience in solid modeling software and data management, CREO experience preferred
  • Have a general understanding in FEA analysis, Ansys preferred
  • Possess good hands-on mechanical ability
  • Have strong verbal, written, presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills
