Job Description

Digital Media Event Technician

This position provides design, setup, installation and operation of A/V equipment systems for high profile events College wide as well as providing presentation support to internal and external clients before and during live events. Provides design, installation and technical support of permanent classrooms using various A/V presentation systems, server based video distribution systems and computer based video production systems. Provides programming for touch panel A/V systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, installs and operates complex A/V event set-ups based on event needs, including staging designs, digital monitor calibration, audio setup and calibration, microphone frequency scanning and video camera calibration and installation.
  • Provides Tier III level A/V technical support College wide including campus learning commons and Theatre departments for various A/V presentation systems, server based video distribution systems and computer based video production systems.
  • Designs and installs permanent digital A/V equipment College wide. Designs and programs touch panel systems in permanent classroom installations. and troubleshoots escalated issues in permanent classroom installations.
  • Serves as Technical Director for A/V events.
  • Provides training and documentation to users on new touch panel systems.
  • Provides audio engineering and video technician service College wide.
  • Maintains inventory control of equipment and provides inventory reports and recommendations regarding equipment purchases.
  • Functionally supervises part-time employees in the Media Engineering Department.
  • Performs other related duties within the job grade and job classification as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certificate in Media Engineering, A/V Technology or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills in basic math and basic level word processing (MS Word)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in the performance of regular work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in a related field

Special Note: This is a Full-time (1199/SEIU) Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 08. Full-time (1199/SEIU) bargaining unit employees at Cuyahoga Community College will be considered first for vacant positions. Target Hiring Rate: Minimum salary $50,891/Annually
