Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an interpreter to support students in a K-12 school setting. This contract position is based in Troy, PA, and spans the 2025-2026 school year, offering a chance to make a significant impact on Deaf or hard of hearing students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing students and their hearing peers, teachers, and school personnel.
• Translate spoken language into sign language and vice versa, ensuring equal access to education.
• Collaborate with educational staff to support students' individual needs and enhance learning outcomes.
• Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in educational interpreting.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a 3.5 EIPA score or fully certified through RID
• Paraprofessionals with ASL experience may be considered
• Previous experience working in K-12 settings is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
