Job title- Senior Strategic Buyer
Location: Greensboro, NC. ONSITE.
Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension/conversion
Pay Range: $40/hr- $45/hr

Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Strategic Buyer to lead and execute strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost efficiency, supplier relationships, and supply chain optimization. With approximately five or more years of relevant experience, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing segment-specific procurement strategies, fostering supplier partnerships, and contributing to transformative projects such as digitalization and sustainability efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage strategic sourcing activities within assigned categories by initiating and executing cost reduction strategies.
• Develop and implement segment-specific procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Establish and maintain effective supplier relationship management processes, ensuring continuous improvement and value creation.
• Negotiate contracts and coordinate with internal stakeholders to develop comprehensive supplier integration plans.
• Monitor market dynamics, including supply chain trends, material & service availability, and price fluctuations, to inform sourcing decisions.
• Partner closely with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop detailed buyer/market profiles, and analyze marketplace trends.
• Define and uphold acceptable service levels to ensure supplier performance meets organizational standards.
• Drive transformative procurement initiatives, including digitalization and sustainability programs, at a strategic level.
• Manage procurement projects independently, demonstrating problem-solving skills in complex and challenging scenarios.
• Mentor and review the work of junior procurement professionals, fostering team development and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships effectively.
• Strong understanding of market analysis, category management, and sourcing strategies.
• Experience with digitalization initiatives and sustainability projects in procurement is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and handle complex procurement challenges.
