Ferguson is looking for a Technical SEO Strategist to contribute to our highly skilled SEO team by owning technical SEO across Ferguson.com and other sites under the broader company umbrella.

This role will focus on improving technical site performance, user experience, site crawling and indexation, and much more. The Technical SEO Strategist will be able to audit large e-commerce websites, distill down key issues, and own the execution of recommended solutions.

Location

This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Technical Audits: Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits to identify issues such as: crawling and indexing problems, rank cannibalization, site structure, and e-commerce-specific challenges like faceted navigation and product page SEO.
• Strategic Recommendations: Develop the most optimal and impactful technical projects based on crawl analysis, investigative deep-dives, best practices, and strong understanding of the websites.
• Project Ownership: Collaborate with product teams and engineers to ensure the implementation of your projects from ideation to completion.
• Reporting & Analysis: Provide monthly technical reports with written analysis and strategic guidance.
• Thought Leadership: Serve as Ferguson’s go-to technical SEO professional, advocating to leadership for SEO prioritization and investment.
• SEO Business Cases: Perform tests, ad-hoc crawls, and data analysis to recommend long-term strategies (e.g. Where to trim or expand pages; Why a section should be overhauled; How to outrank a top competitor).
• Off-Page SEO: Develop plans for modern link-building efforts.
• Team Resourcing: Evaluate, recommend, and implement SEO tools and partnerships.
• Team Collaboration: Take on other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time professional SEO experience, preferably with an emphasis on technical SEO.
• Expert proficiency in SEO tools (e.g. DeepCrawl/Lumar.io, Screaming Frog, Excel/Google Sheets, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Majestic).
• Ability to distill crawl metrics into actionable tasks and projects.
• Experience and/or understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience manipulating large data sets (e.g. REGEX, SQL, and/or Advanced Excel formulas).
• Experience with project management systems (e.g. JIRA, Workfront).
• Hands-on experience making changes in a CMS, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
• Experience working on large e-commerce sites.
• Can provide examples of implementing technical improvements across large groups of pages.
• Strong project management skills with ability to build, support, communicate, and implement SEO strategies across teams.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Pay Range

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,374.70 – $10,450.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
