Sheltering Arms Institute is seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to join our team. The day shift is available from 7am‑7pm. The attendant will provide continuous observation and monitoring for high‑risk patients, ensuring the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes the risk of falls and harm to the patient. The attendant monitors the patient’s physical and emotional well‑being, reporting any changes in status promptly while maintaining a direct line of sight on the patient at all times. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain a direct line of sight on patient at all times, including while family and/or visitors are in the room. Accompany patient and ensure patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patient’s normal environment. Establish a safe, risk‑free patient environment by applying knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self‑harm prevention; perform room assessment regularly and after any visitations. Monitor patient’s physical and emotional condition; report any changes in status promptly while maintaining direct line of sight on the patient. Intervene as needed to prevent patient from harming self or others; seek immediate assistance for escalating incidents. Demonstrate knowledge and respect of patient’s right to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality.
