We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist for a long-term contract assignment in Los Angeles, CA . This role is within a large county health system that includes hospitals and ambulatory care clinics. The position provides a pathway toward permanent employment with strong salary, pension, and career advancement opportunities.
Position Details:
Contract Length: 12 24 months (with potential to transition to permanent hire)
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts
Setting: Outpatient/Hospital Pharmacy
Responsibilities:
Provide safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications in an outpatient setting
Conduct patient counseling and medication therapy management as needed
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimize patient care
Support compliance with state, federal, and hospital pharmacy regulations
Assist in workflow management, inventory oversight, and patient service initiatives
Requirements (must have to apply):
Active California Pharmacist License in good standing
Completion of a PGY1 residency (highly preferred) or ~2 years of recent outpatient pharmacy experience (required)
Strong clinical knowledge and ability to work in a high-volume hospital/outpatient environment
Ability to pass a competency exam (required; one attempt only)
Must complete and pass Livescan background clearance
