Full Stack Developer Role Overview

Grassroots Analytics is seeking a Full Stack Developer with 3+ years of experience to join the Development team and build the next generation of data analysis infrastructure and tools in the political space.

Grassroots Analytics derives a large part of its success from the natural collaboration and innovation of a diverse group of people problem-solving together in-person. This is a full-time, in-office position based in our office in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Candidates must be willing to work in-office.

We are looking for someone with the following:

Abilities

• Proactive Problem Solving : Identify and develop solutions to challenges, constantly looking at big-picture progress, and flagging any potential upcoming challenges in the organization overall

• Cooperation : Work together with analysts and other team members to effectively achieve our collective goals. Mentor other members of the team

Skills

• Python (django, pandas, airflow) - 2+ years experience
• SQL (Postgres) - 2+ years experience
• Google Cloud Platform (Bigquery, Composer, Functions, SQL, Logging, Storage)
• HTML/CSS/Javascript
• React/Vue

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software development process from conception to deployment and through to monitoring
• Maintain and upgrade the software following deployment (e.g. website maintenance, enhancements, ensure responsiveness)
• Collaborate with GA analysts/data scientists on building and testing internal/external facing tools
• Collaborate with and mentor other team members in their development
• Provide updates during the monthly corporate report and board meetings
• Design client-side and server-side architecture
• Develop and manage well-functioning applications and infrastructure
• Write effective APIs
• Test software to ensure functionality and non-functional requirements
• Maintain a strong security posture at all times
• Write technical documentation
• Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
• Mentor more junior developers in best practices and techniques

• Target Compensation: $100k+ depending on experience
