Job Description : The Finishing Field Engineer oversees and coordinates the final stages of construction work, including architectural finishes, interior works, and project close-out activities. This role ensures that finishing works meet design specifications, quality standards, and client expectations, while coordinating with subcontractors, site supervisors, and project managers to deliver a defect-free product.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and monitor finishing works such as drywall, flooring, ceilings, painting, joinery, fixtures, and interior fit-outs.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and finish schedules to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate daily site activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members.
  • Inspect and verify quality of finishing works; identify and resolve defects or deficiencies.
  • Track progress and ensure finishing works are completed on schedule.
  • Assist in preparing punch lists and oversee completion of final inspections and handover.
  • Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies on site.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and architects regarding finishing details.
  • Support project manager in final testing, commissioning, and turnover procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of finishing trades, materials, and installation methods.
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings, finish schedules, and project specifications.
  • Ability to manage subcontractors and resolve technical/site issues promptly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality control, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities to coordinate across teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-5 years of experience in construction with emphasis on finishing works.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and managing finishing activities on medium to large-scale projects.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes, building codes, and industry finishing standards.
  • Preferred: OSHA 30-Hour Certification, AutoCAD proficiency, and prior experience with interior fit-outs.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
