Overview We are seeking applicants for an ongoing position. The Elite Stylist role focuses on engaging with guests, consulting on hair care needs, and recommending products and services. This position supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) with emphasis on service quality, sales performance, guest service, and adherence to operating procedures and compliance standards. General Summary & Scope The Elite Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. This role requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge. Principal Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable. Meet or exceed the weekly sales and productivity goals for hair services, and contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink. Perform product demonstrations with guests to drive sales and enhance the guest service experience. Support the execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an exceptional guest experience. Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services, and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests. Maintain prompt, regular attendance. People Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate recommendations. Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner. Partner with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience. Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to collaboratively deliver exceptional guest service. Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests in the salon and salesfloor. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development. Process Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards. Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and comply with state board guidelines. Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Utilize booking and clientele systems to schedule return services and events. Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness. Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, sales floor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and assigned areas. Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Protect company assets by following loss prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service. Execute other operational tasks as directed. Job Qualifications Education Cosmetology license Experience Previous relevant work experience is required Skills Proficiency with latest salon techniques for hair services and makeup, and ability to develop skills across service categories. Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical work. Proficiency to demonstrate, recommend and sell pro hair care and makeup products. Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and a clientele base. Special Position Requirements Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions Continuous mobility during shift. Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs. as needed. Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift. Ability to stand for long periods and coordinate/move objects during shift. The pay range for this position is the higher of $16.35 - $21.40 per hour or service pay for the workweek. Exact pay will be based on factors including education, qualifications, experience, level, shift, location, and needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime and tips paid by service guests. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off and benefits; part-time positions are eligible for certain benefits.
