Job Summary:

The IT Director is responsible for leading the IT department and overseeing the technological infrastructure within the organization. This role involves hands-on management of network infrastructure, strategic development of IT policies, and ensuring data security. The IT Director will manage IT staff, develop and implement IT strategies and systems, and improve the IT services that support the organizations goals. The ideal candidate will bring a robust technical background, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster interdepartmental collaboration. Travel, both national and international, is required to meet business demands.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience in managing network infrastructure, including proficiency with Cisco products and UBIQUITI/UNIFI equipment.
  • Proven ability to lead the setup of new offices, encompassing all IT-related requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge in developing department policies and best practices, particularly for data security and backup solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of both cloud and on-premises technologies, with specific experience in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using and managing Google and Microsoft products, including Active Directory.
  • Strong ability to facilitate communication across multiple departments.
  • Experience in team building and mentoring, ensuring professional development within the IT department.
  • Evaluates IT operations against established goals and makes strategic adjustments as necessary.
  • Assesses the need for new equipment and software, ensuring optimal technological support for business operations.
  • Prepares and presents progress and budget reports to upper management.
  • Responsible for hiring and integrating new IT staff members.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external vendors to enhance IT services.
  • Manages the company's help desk support ticketing system, ensuring efficient resolution of issues.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally based on business requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with network infrastructure
  • Hands-on experience with opening new offices

Knowledge & Experience:

  • High Percentage of Travel between Miami and Mexico (50% of travel from the first month of employment)
  • Bachelors degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related field (graduate degree a plus).
  • Minimum of eight years experience working in and managing IT operations.
  • At least three years experience overseeing IT teams and projects.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, including a thorough knowledge of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases, and storage systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects effectively.
  • Solid working knowledge of all relevant coding languages and security protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Schedule: Monday-Friday
Location: In-Office Position - Travel required (50% of traveling between Miami and Mexico)
