This includes researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. The taxing authority verifies these issues, and the Consultant assists with this process. The Consultant is responsible for creating positive team member experiences, leading to excellent client service and driving revenue and profit for the firm. The ideal candidate will have analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong people skills. They should be effective in researching issues, reconciling databases, and completing detailed calculations. Responsibilities aligned with Ryan’s Key Results: People: Create a positive team member experience. Client: Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities. Value: Work effectively with clients and taxing authorities on a national basis. Attend client meetings and property inspections. Review client property tax records. Utilize software knowledge to work efficiently with client data. Research tax issues. Prepare and review property reports and renditions. Analyze assessment notices and identify potential assessment reductions. File appeals. Determine liability for development projects. Address tax incentive issues for clients. Interact frequently with team members. Communicate effectively via written and verbal channels. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Business Computer Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Entrepreneurship, Finance, International Business, Public Administration, Real Estate, or related fields, with a Master’s in Business Discipline or JD preferred. Must have at least 6 hours of coursework in Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or Finance with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; Major GPA of 3.25 or higher. Relevant work experience preferred (internships, summer positions, school jobs) or a bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of audit or tax-related experience. Desire to work in a high-energy team environment. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple assignments, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet research is required. Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver’s license required. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Standard indoor environment. Occasional long periods of sitting at a computer. Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm, clients, and external vendors via in person, email, and phone. Travel up to 10-20% may be required.
