As a Car Electronics Installer, you will install and troubleshoot mobile electronics in customer vehicles, providing expert advice and high-quality customer service. This role requires technical skills and knowledge of automotive technology to ensure compatibility and successful installations. The position involves working with products like speakers, cameras, and amplifiers, while also maintaining required certifications and driving standards.
As a Car Electronics Installer, you’ll lend your technical talents to installing new technology into customers’ vehicles. In this role, you’ll follow established procedures for recommending, troubleshooting and installing mobile electronics specific to each vehicle. You’ll also share automotive technology advice, best practices and recommendations with clients and other employees. Internally, this role is known as an Autotech Agent.
What you’ll doInstall standard mobile electronic solutions including T-harness remote starts, speakers, dash cameras, backup cameras, amplifiers and in-dash units
Verify vehicle make and model and communicate any compatibility concerns prior to installation
Use provided guides to identify compatible mobile electronic products and complete installation projects
Provide a high level of customer service
Acquire and maintain required certifications
Basic qualifications
Current, valid driver’s license
Have and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards (e.g. minimal number of violations/accidents)
Preferred qualifications
Prior experience installing car electronics
Prior retail experience
