Overview Asst Liquor Store Manager – Winn-Dixie Location: Plantation, FL Winn-Dixie is part of Southeastern Grocers and values inclusion and belonging. This role supports daily operations in the liquor department and acts as a team leader when the department manager is off. Essential Responsibilities Assist in management of the daily operations in the liquor department. Serve as acting team leader in the manager’s absence and perform managerial tasks accordingly. Promote and ensure compliant operating conditions to increase customer confidence and loyalty. Provide fresh, appealing products with courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service. Execute merchandising plans as outlined in department planners, toolkits or event packs, while monitoring merchandising standards, product levels, shrink, and sales trends. Monitor and control supply expenses, manage cash control, sales and cash items, and records for the liquor store. Supervise, train, and develop team members; provide coaching as needed. Balance physical labor with delegation, team-building, leadership, planning, and administrative duties. Responsibilities by Category Service – Create a welcoming environment; ensure in-stock conditions and adherence to freshness, quality, and value standards; train staff on inventory/stocking and computer-assisted ordering; assist customers with product selection. (Note: time allocation not required in refined version.) Leadership – Promote teamwork, communicate information, help set merchandising, sales and profit goals, and manage schedules to maintain high service levels, especially during peak hours. Adhere to all laws and company guidelines. Financial – Complete daily/weekly administrative tasks; monitor inventory, report discrepancies; ensure proper product temperatures per food safety guidelines and maintain documentation of temperature logs. Compliance/Safety – Maintain safety, sanitation, and productivity standards; comply with regulatory requirements (USDA, COOL, DOA); manage recalls, report accidents, and uphold wage/hour policies; promote a safety culture; ensure PPE usage and safe operation of equipment. Qualifications Education: High School / GED Language Requirements: English; Spanish preferred Relevant Experience: Supervisory experience; 0-3 years minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be 21 years of age; authorization to work in the United States; successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check; strong customer service; interpersonal, motivational and communication skills; basic math; ability to handle stressful situations; proficiency with computer applications used in department operations. Environmental Factors Retail environment with general physical demands. Regular standing or walking, dexterity, and ability to handle various loads. May be exposed to indoor/outdoor conditions, cold, heat, wet/humid environments, noise, dust, fumes, and cleaning agents. PPE may be required. Equipment includes registers, scales, scanners, and material handling tools. Lifting up to 50 lbs; pulling up to 250 lbs. Shift Varied shifts, including 3-4 evening shifts per week (prime time).
