Role Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Treasury Markets is driving a tech focus agenda, aiming to improve data integrity and system efficiency to enhance TM’s analytical capabilities. The goal is to develop a global database that allows traders to run on-demand analysis, looking at various risk factors, returns models, multi-scenario simulations etc. This will provide a solid foundation for TM to further enhance efficiency and become shaper and more precise in our decision-making process. This will have profound impact on TM’s performance and improve the bank’s RoTE in the long run.

Key Responsibilities

  • We are looking for a talented individual to play a frontline role, who can integrate deep business knowledge, excellent critical thinking and interpersonal skills to drive optimal analytical / forecasting solutions for the bank. A successful candidate will work closely with Treasury Markets dealers to develop a rapid responds team that has the ability to navigate the banks systems, gather the necessary data for analysis, and generate analysis to facilitate TM to make timely decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Reach out to key global Treasury / business stakeholders to understand business intents / pain points, synthesize information to articulate business methodology and intended business benefits.
  • Translate business problem statement into user stories, investigate and propose detailed business logic and methodologies (e.g. product scope, forecast model assumptions, FTP calculations, etc.)
  • Perform feasibility study / sanity checks to ensure that proposed analytics solution is fit-for-purpose, can generate intended business benefits, and feasible from a data / system standpoint.
  • Able to communicate effectively to senior management, working groups, and data / system engineers.
  • Provide stakeholders analytics training, and address ad-hoc inquiries as needed.

Agile Project squads

  • Actively participate in Agile project squads, clearly communicate business requirements / methodology to data engineers, programmers, etc.
  • Perform UAT testing and detailed review of final solution, to ensure it delivers on the agreed business intents / methodology. Clearly articulate issues (if any) to managers / project squads for revision.
  • Pre-anticipate how project deliverables might impact BAU, and raise requests / issues during project phase to address those gaps / needs.
  • Ensure project deliverable is well-integrated into robust BAU processes. Provide support to BAU team as needed.

Stakeholder communication project experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Build trusted relationships with multiple stakeholder groups and project squads.
  • Able to summarise details into overall recommendation (balance business vs technical communication).
  • Strive optimal balance between quality of delivery and effort/time spent.
  • Continuous improvement mindset. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Self-starter and independent, ability to perform well with minimal supervision.
  • Project team experience is crucial (e.g. business requirement, UAT testing, validate results).

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Solid business knowledge & analytical skills.
  • Python: 2-3 years development experience with familiarity in core and panadas, knowledge in scikit-learn or tensorflow is a plus.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g. Excel, VBA / SQL / Dataiku).
  • UI / Data visualization: Experience in building dashboard (e.g. MicroStrategy, Matplotlib etc.) is a plus.
  • Familiarity in fixed income market and products is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and agile mindset with problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and keep a tight grasp in technologies development and business areas.
  • Degree in Finance / Statistics / Other quantitative fields.
