UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Management Data Specialist/Analyst Summer Internship in the Workers Compensation department. This internship will be Monday through Friday daylight hours and will be a remote position . We are looking for Undergraduate students, recent undergrad graduates, rising seniors and Graduate students studying Health Care Administration or Health Sciences. The internship is a set rate of $18.00/hr.
The UPMC Insurance Services Division (ISD) college student will have a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to the UPMC Insurance Services Division, while pursuing their health care career interests. Students will have opportunities to: – Gain broad exposure to various aspects of the Insurance Services Division (ISD). – Better understand the role of the ISD as it relates to UPMC and its function as part of a fully integrated academic medical center. – Strengthen health care experience through work on various projects. – Observe executive-level meetings. – Improve management, leadership, communication, networking, and analytical skills.
Medical Management is a supportive department for Workpartners’ Claims Management with focus on quality of care, cost containment and customer service. We have several service lines including care channel, network management, provider relations and internal medical bill review. Scope of duties will include but not be limited to data management and analysis, and special projects.
